COMPRO 2D is the full feature,
release version of the COMPRO line: a 2D, plane-strain composites
processing analysis and design software with a user friendly Windows
interface. The core of COMPRO 2D is the COMPRO engine, a coupled
thermochemical-stress-flow solution with a dynamic autoclave controller
simulation. COMPRO 2D is the complete virtual autoclave, equipped
with powerful capabilities enabling you to consider the following
process parameters in your models:
 |
 |
- Heat Transfer / Autoclave Characteristics
- Resin Cure Kinetics
- Multidirectional Laminates / Fabrics
- Honeycomb Panels
- Thermal Expansion / Resin Cure Shrinkage
- Tool-Part interaction
|
|
COMPRO can write output suitable for importing into MS EXCEL and for
TECPLOT, a popular scientific visualization software. COMPRO outputs
include:
| |
|
 |
- Tool and Part Temperature
- Evolution of Material Properties including Degree
of Cure, Modulus and Tg
- Resin Viscosity / Resin Flow
- Fibre Volume Fraction / Part Thickness
- Residual Stress Development
- Final part shape
|
COMPRO 2D has several features which enable you to generate models
efficiently. These include:
| |
|
 |
- Realistic lead-lag autoclave controller
- Several material models
- Material properties database
- Support for user defined material models
- Basic mesh generator included
|
quasi 3D analyses
While the current full release version of COMPRO is a 2D plane
strain code, it is possible to perform quasi 3D anayses using
COMPRO in concert with other structural FE codes. For more information
on this technique consult the following case studies and publications
